2025 New Rules
Drawing Out Turn Outs & Entry Fee Refund
- In all events, any contestant who turns out stock or doesn’t compete without a doctor’s release, vet release or a licensed chiropractor release will be responsible for paying fees. If fees are not paid within 10 days of turning out a $25 fine will be added to fees. A contestant can not compete until all fees and fines are paid. All fines must be paid to qualify for the Finals.
- Contractors will be responsible to contact all Directors in their events of no shows. The Directors will call the contestants. Contestants must have them in the office to compete at another IRA Rodeo.
- Veterinary releases are allowed in all events and must be dated 72 hours after the performance from which a contestant release. The IRA Secretary must have release within 10 days. If a contestant “vets out”, they cannot compete in that event for (3) days.
Stock To Be Eligible For Finals & Year End Awards
- IRA Stock Contractors must produce 3 IRA first approved rodeos, or 5 second approved rodeos, or 3 speciality, or a combination of the for mentioned events approved by the board of Directors in the current year to bring stock to the finals and be eligible for year-end awards.

*A new Breakaway Rule was passed at the 2023 General Membership Meeting at the Finals, we will be reviewing with the board and making an update to the Rule Book soon. FYI – there has not been an update to the Rulebook since the 2020 season so the link below is the most recent version available until the breakaway update is made.
Update 6/10/24: Bell collar catch rule: Above the knee and over the head in front of the tail head. A paid personnel of the rodeo who understands the breakaway will be designated spotter. Spotter will be on the opposite side of arena of the judge.
